Stupid Questions?

By TalktoWalker • March 8th, 2010

Head in the SandI was surfing the web, and came across a blog that I thought was pretty interesting. In one of the posts, Stupid Real Estate Questions , he is telling his clients he is devoting a site to their STUPID QUESTIONS. Is he calling his clients stupid?

Let me know your thoughts, and whether or not you would be offended if you were one of his “clients”.

As always we would love for you to become one of our VALUED clients and Find The Perfect Home for Your Family

Thanks for reading.

I’m not calling them stupid at all … but we all have stupid questions when we’re entering unfamiliar territory, particularly when dealing with the complexities of a real estate transaction.

The only stupid question is the one not asked. I’m hoping to answer those questions. :)

If my real estate agent told me he was putting my questions in his stupid question section he would be fired. It’s absolutely an insult. There is no such thing as a ‘stupid question’, and referring to them as stupid questions not only insults the asker, but it makes them reluctant to ask another question which is what the real estate agent is there for.

The real estate agent works for his client. When’s the last time someone paid an employee to call them stupid. It doesn’t and should not happen.

Hey Derran, I agree! Although I do understand where the agent was coming from, any time you use stupid and question in the same sentence I think it is bound to insult and discourage questions. That is why every important major website has a FAQ page and not a Stupid Questions page. I didn’t post this to pick on the agent, because every agent operates differently. I think it would really come down to the personality of the agent and his relationship with his clients. In the end maybe American’s are just less Sensitive. lol

Did you watch my video? Read any of the things I’ve written?

I’m not calling anyone stupid, but the phrase “stupid questions” is a common one; I’m hoping to answer some of the questions that a lot of my clients (and hopeful clients) have but feel, frankly, stupid for asking.

I’d like to think that I’m disarming them a bit by being candid, blunt, and quite self-deprecating in my premises.

No insult was ever intended, nor will it be. Mark, I think you hit it on the head – it depends on the relationships. Luckily, I have pretty good ones with my clients.
